Road Skills Test

Service Description

16-YEAR-OLD APPLICANTS - The applicant can take their road skills driving test if they are at least 16 years of age and have held the learner’s permit for a minimum of 180 days from the learner’s permit issue date. It can be taken at the DMV or with AGI and the fee is the same; $40. The student will use their car and the car will have to pass a pre-inspection checklist. While a student may be administered the road skills driving test, they are not guaranteed to pass unless a score of at least 80% is obtained. 17 AND OLDER APPLICANTS -The applicant can take their road skills driving test if they are at least 17 years of age and have proof of completing a driver’s education course or if the applicant holds a learner’s permit. The minimum possession of 180 days with the learner’s permit is not required for anyone 17 years and older. While a student may be administered the road skills driving test, they are not guaranteed to pass unless a score of at least 80% is obtained. ITEMS NEEDED FOR PERMIT - Below are the items you will need to bring to the DMV when you get your learner's permit. - Learner’s permit or the Certificate of Successful Completion from the driving school if a student does not have a learner’s permit. - Copy of the student’s birth certificate OR state-issued identification card **for students without a learner’s permit. - Parent (domicile if divorced) or legal guardian with driver’s license and a copy of court-approved domicile or guardianship documents. **for minor applicants only - The student’s state-issued temporary instructional permit (TIP) card (This card WAS be obtained at the Office of Motor Vehicles before attending a driver’s education course for any course taken on or after 9/4/2018.) **for applicants without a learner’s permit
